Congratulations on your election as Delegate/Alternate for Senator Obama in your precinct election. Thanks to your support, he swept every county in Washington State!
As a delegate for Obama, the next step in this process is to attend the 48th LD Caucus on April 5th. This is even more critically important than the precinct caucuses. Obama must continue to win in each LD/County to maintain or gain more national delegates in the end. The proportion of delegates we have at the LD caucus determines the number of delegates we elect to the Congressional District and finally the number we have at the State Convention in June and the National Convention in August. You should attend even if you are an alternate, because if your delegate doesn’t attend, you will be able to take his/her place and not let us lose delegates in this very close election.
Therefore, the next important step is for you to attend the 48th District Legislative Caucus on Saturday, April 5th at 10:00 am--doors open at 9 a.m. The caucus is at Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St., Bellevue. The school is at the corner of NE 24th ST and 164th Ave NE, a block east of the Bellevue Uwajimaya. Driving Directions
On April 5th, parking is available only behind the school and also next to the football field. We have permission to also park in any of the many spaces available at the Unigard Insurance Company, the property next door to the school. You may also park on streets nearby. Carpooling is always recommended.
Further, we are looking for volunteers to help get the word out to all of the delegates. Please let me know if you are able to help either before the event or at the caucus. We are looking for precinct captains and people willing to adopt other precincts to get all delegates and alternates to the Caucus.

If you want more information about serving as a delegate or an alternate at the Legislative District caucus, you may want to attend this meeting. While this information meeting is oriented to the 48th LD, all may attend.
We will be disseminating basic information for 48th Legislative District
Obama Delegates and Alternates and will have a Q/A session. We will also
be organizing carpools to our legislative district caucus location, Interlake HS.
Please let the event coordinator know if you can volunteer with clean-up,
set-up, organizing carpools, providing transit information, or can be a resource for the Q/A session.
